System Engineer for PDGS MF

We are looking for a degree educated engineer with aerospaceinformaticsmathematicsphysics degree or equivalent with software or ground system engineering knowledge and some software development, deployment and support experience to work in a geographically distributed deployment, support and maintenance team of a large payload data ground system. RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES Support Payload Data Ground System integration, deployment, acceptance and validation through launch, commissioning and maintenance phase Work with the deployment team, the project engineering team and the customer organisation to ensure o timely readiness of the PDGS at customer site for launch and commissioning o readiness of subsequent PDGS component updatesupgrades for handover to operations. As a team member contributing to the Reception of newupdated system components Configuration management of system components, scripts, related documentation Integration testing of such PDGS components Review, update and execution of Test Plans Performance of acceptance testing with the customer Production of task related documentation Handover of the system to operations QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE Experience in system engineeringsoftware integration, validation and maintenance, ability to provide support to customers. ESSENTIAL SKILLS Experience in integration of a large system Experience in test and validation at system level Understanding of hardware configuration including both physical and virtual machines Experience in integration and testing methodology Ability to work in a methodical fashion and to thoroughly document and organise his work Ability to work with limited supervision on welldefined objectives Experience with a Source Code Control System SVN basic Linux system administration for Red Hat based system, including shell scripts and command line utilities Knowledge of Red Hat LINUX software package and tools Good communication skills Fluency in spoken and written English DESIRABLE SKILLS Knowledge of ESAs ECSS standards applicable to Ground Segment development Knowledge of Payload Data Ground System engineering Understanding of space sensors data processing Experience in space industry You must be eligible to live and work in the EU,the acquisition of a security clearance is mandatory for this position. System and Mechanical Support Engineer for ISS Columbus Infrastructure

Aurora has the opportunity to expand our support to ESA in the Human Spaceflight and Operations Directorate DHSO supporting the ISS. Overview The candidate shall provide engineering support to ESA project manager for system and mechanical aspects related to the Columbus infrastructure sustainability and evolution items as described below. This will include daytoday monitoring of the activities of the Industrial Contractors and review of technical documentation. Specific Work Package tasks will be Support the establishment of the baseline for new items, from requirements up to and including the end item definition. Review and approval of Industry Specification level for equipment of the ISS Columbus module, and for postISS elements as required by hierarchical superiors. Monitor industrial activities for the procurementdevelopment and integration, test, verification of new or recurrent Columbus System equipment from structural, mechanicalthermal and configuration system aspects. Monitor industrial activities for the procurementdevelopment of the Columbus Terminal hosting platform in coordination with the other involved disciplines ExtraVehicular Activities, Human Factor, Thermal Support the organisation and conduct of project reviews for system, structural, mechanical, budgets and configuration aspects. Support the resolution of anomalies from ground and onorbit activities in the system field. Support Engineering Control boards, MRBs, TRRPTRs, VCB in the system and mechanical area. Support the evaluation of Change Requests, Waivers and PIRNs in the system and mechanical area. Other duties within the post holders area of competence as may be required by the hierarchical superiors in support of their activities. Specific qualification requirements University degree preferably Masters in Engineering. A minimum of 3 years relevant professional experience post Degree. A good experience and knowledge of structuralmechanicalconfiguration design, development, testing and verification of requirements for Human Spaceflight hardware. A good knowledge of implications at system level of structuralmechanicalconfiguration aspects. Ability to effectively work in a team environment with other ESA organisations like Columbus Operations Division, and Technical Directorate and with Industry and to follow a proactive attitude to solving problems and also to work independently. Ability to work and communicate effectively in English. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands. Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed onsite at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Solaris and Linux System Engineer 1513024 Job Description We are looking for a Solaris and Linux System Engineer to support our client EUMETSAT based at their Headquarters in Darmstadt. As a member of the Computer Systems Management team, you shall provide support to all Ground Segment Commissioning and Routine Operations. This experience should have been made in an operational or production environment, characterized by custom applications in addition to standard software, running both on the client and server side, and by high availability requirements. You shall have an expert knowledge and a significant work experience of the Solaris Linux operating systems, and should be familiar, to the extent required by the performance of the above tasks. Proven knowledge and at least 5 years handson experience with the following is mandatory Solaris Linux RedHat or SLES High Availability software Sun Cluster and Veritas Cluster Sun QFS and SAMQFS software in HA cluster environments IT System design skills Preparation of technical documentation in English in a complete and clear manner. Fluency in English together with good communication skills.
