Tasks The Storage Network Infrastructure SNI provides a backbone of storage services to all programs, unified under a management framework. This position is related to the ongoing series of flight demonstrations onboard the International Space Station ISS. EPSSG will be the second generation of EUMETSATs polar system and as such will have a strong heritage from the existing EPS with its Metop satellites and operations, and from other elements of the EUMETSAT infrastructure in support of current program TASKS The activities for the selected keyperson will be related to overall System aspects for endto end instrument functional chains, i.e. involving the space segment satellites as well as the ground segment, the latter consisting of the data acquisition systems, monitoring and control systems, data processing chains and product dissemination facilities. In the frame of endtoend instrument functional chain activities, the keyperson will be part of the EPSSG System Team and provide support for tasks related to specifications of on ground data processing chains, definition of their interfaces, definition of space to ground data flows, verification and validation of onground data processing chains for imaging and sounding instruments. It is emphasized that a major part of the work to be undertaken by the engineer will be to followup and assess the outcome of the ongoing activities done by different groups in the EPSSG team EPSSG system team, EPSSG instrument team, EPSSG science team and EPSSG ground segment team, and ensure that all the inter disciplinary activities are done in a systematic way, compatible with the EPSSG programme objectives and constraints.
