The Position We are supporting the European Space Agency ESA with highly qualified services at the European Operations Control Centre ESOC in Darmstadt. For new service positions for the satellite missions of the Copernicus program we are searching for Data System Engineers to complement our international service team! As part of our service team you will provide support for the configuration and operations of Data Systems such as Mission Control System, Operational Simulators, Auxiliary Data Systems. These services include Preparation, execution and reporting of acceptance test campaigns for deliveries from Copernicus software development activities Supporting the Agency in the technical assessments and followup of technical evolution of the operational Data Systems Installation and configuration of the Copernicus data systems Supervising running Copernicus data systems and taking the necessary actions to ensure the continued performance of the systems Generation and maintenance of operational procedures Provision of 1stline support to the satellite operation Reviewing innovation activities including supporting related RD activities, and providing assessment on relevant new technologies Reviewing relevant developments in ESOC common infrastructure for its applicability towards Copernicus Data Systems Maintenance and evolvement of software scripts ensuring running of the Data Systems e.g. system monitoring, deployment scripts, etc. In your role you will also coordinate and collaborate with industrial partners and teams within ESOC. You will support the Agency in the technical management of the projects for maintenance and evolution of the Copernicus Data Systems. Such activities might involve defining the scope of deliveries, supervising of progress and contributing to the definition of planned evolutions. QualificationsExperience University degree in a relevant engineering field, computer engineering, physics or equivalent with high grades.
