Experience in software development for business management applications. Handson experience with Business Analytics Software e.g, Tableau, Power BI, Python. Excellent analytical and planning skills. Experience in collection user requirements, designing dashboards, defining KPIs. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. The following skills would be highly desirable Knowledge of Javascript, Java 7, Sharepoint and Nintex. Experience with database and Data warehouse architecture MS SQL server, Datavault Builder. Spaceopal is the prime service operations contractor for the European Galileo Satellite Navigation System and manages all Galileo Service Operations. The awarded European Commission EC contract to Spaceopal is more than just its satellites in space. Galileo Service Operations will provide highquality positioning, navigation and timing services to users across the whole world as a civilcontrolled service with guaranteed continuity of coverage. Tasks and Responsibilities The Spaceopal SPO System Engineer is a member of the SPO Technical Team. The role requires liaising effectively across all SPO teams and with other GSOp teams, promoting the related information transfer as for tasks below described. The main responsibility is to support the harmonized and coordinated System Engineering processes and activities spanning over all Galileo infrastructure, sites and teams, in accordance with the indications of the Evolution Manager to whom shehe will report on the matter. Processes and activities to be managed and overseen are primarily, but not limited to, the following Supporting the operations preparation and operational validation of new infrastructure deployments and related operational scenarios and products ensuring these can be declared fit for providing services In this context, support the Evolution Manager to prepare the engineering specifications and to monitor the followon development Promoting and followingup engineering specifications and developments for system infrastructure and service evolutions as originated directly from SPO or from GSOp partners In the context of a Galileo Ground Infrastructure Release cycle Coordinate the GSOp support to HWSW infrastructure SegmentElement Design, Development and Verification and Qualification milestone reviews and campaigns prior to and as these reach deployment to Galileo sites Contribute to operational products development and validation planning for System and Service operations spanning across more sites and entities, monitoring the operational readiness Ensuring adequate monitoring and contribution by GSOp teams during SystemSegmentService verification and qualification campaigns as led by the Design Authority andor final Customer Cooperating with the SPO Ground Segment Engineers GMS and GCS for a harmonized management of the system engineering activities in the framework The Spaceopal SPO System Engineer is also required to develop technical notes, plans and other documentation as required plus regular reports on status of activities. Further it will be important to occasionally contribute, as and when required to SPO technical proposal preparation processes liaising with SPO legal and contracts to the execution of other ongoing SPO contracts beyond the scope of GSOp. Required Qualification and Experience To be eligible, a candidate must Hold a degree in TelecommunicationsElectronicsInformaticsAerospace Engineering or Physics or Math with at least 5 years of work experience alternatively, 8 years related work experience Have a Systems Engineering formation, best if developed in the Space industry and in international environmentsprojects Proven working experience in space industry, space operations, or satellite services Have experience and background in Satellite Navigation and related mission services engineering Have knowledge and experience in Security and related processes Have experience and background specific to GALILEO program, in particular The GMS and GCS Segment architecture and operations KPI and Metrics analysis The job requires also Strong problemsolving skills Fast decision making in case of service impacting problems Ability to work in intercultural and geographically distributed work environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good interpersonal liaising and communication skills with strong attitude to team work Handson mentality and systematic, selforganized, able to prioritize way of working Fluency in written and spoken English, with knowledge of Italian andor German also appreciated Fluency in standard office automation tools MS Office, Email, Internet, etc. Work location Spaceopal Headquarter Munich, Germany. System Operations Engineer Earth Observation Satellites

Thorn SDS is a niche provider of specialist engineering services within the European Space Sector. At Thorn SDS you are a big part of a small team. Thorn SDS is part of the incumbent System Operations Engineering team based onsite at EUMETSAT providing services focussed on real time endtoend mission operations and the systems required to support them, including communications networks, operational infrastructure, operation security training and interfacing with Flight Operations. The services support the routine operational phases of EUMETSAT MSG and EPS systems, Copernicus systems as well as to support the preparation of future missions including MTG. We are bidding to retain these services and part of our solution enables us to showcase 1 or 2 high quality new candidates that we will propose join our team, on or around June 2022, to address the expanding client requirements. Whilst we are aware that it is impractical to completely commit to such a timescale, we are seeking candidates that are applying in the full knowledge that this is the likely time scale and can therefore plan accordingly. The role is based at our clients facility ESAESOC, Darmstadt and is a fabulous opportunity for an individual with excellent communication skills in English, to work on a number of hugely interesting programmes. The scope of the role is wide ranging and may include elements of routine operations services, operations preparations services and operations training. You should have a minimum two years of experience in system operations of EO missions covering a number of the disciplines listed in the tasks and responsibilities above and additionally, experience in the system operations engineering of complex EO ground segments and experience of VV of such systems. The role will develop with different missions so we are looking for engineers who can demonstrate initiative and flexibility in a fastpaced environment, perhaps already familiar with the EUMETSAT or ESA environment. Many of the systems operate with UNIXLinux operating systems so knowledge of this in an operational environment is a core requirement. You should be systematic in your approach to work, able to plan and cope with tight schedules you should be able to communicate articulately in English and be able to write accurate, concise, focussed and consistent technical documentation.
