(Telecompaper) The popularity of voice and instant messaging applications in the Netherlands continues to grow. The top three such apps installed by Dutch smartphone users - WhatsApp, Facebook and Facebook Messenger show a steady increase in penetration over the past year. Facebook Messenger is installed on 57 percent of Dutch smartphones, equal to almost 7.0 million devices. This makes it the third most popular voice and instant messaging app in the country, according to the latest edition of Telecompaper's Dutch Apps Market report.

(Telecompaper) LG Electronics has expanded its K Series smartphone lineup with the launch of the K8 and K5 mid-range devices. LG introduced the K10, K7 and K4 earlier this year. The K8 and K5 will be introduced in key markets this week. The K8 will be available to consumers in regions including Asia, Africa, the Middle East, CIS and Latin America. The K5 will target customers in Europe, CIS and Latin America (model name Q6 in Mexico).
