New Jersey Transit , the third largest transit system in the U.S., is continuing its efforts to improve customer service by seeking feedback from its rail and bus customers. In 2011, the agency launched its Scorecard initiative , which includes an online customer survey that gives riders the chance to rate NJ Transit's overall performance in several areas including communication, rail and bus comfort, parking lot safety and customer service.

A 47-year-old New Providence man plead guilty in Newark federal court to paying bribes to a New Jersey Transit employee in exchange for landscaping contracts. Raymond Rapuano is charged with one count of bribery, according to a press release from U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman.
Pedestrian struck, killed by NJ Transit train

New Jersey Transit rail riders are facing delays on the North Jersey Coast Line after a train struck and killed a man on the tracks. The New York-bound train was carrying approximately 125 passengers and crew when the incident took place just west of the Hazlet station around 5:25 a.m. Tuesday.
