Xiaomi revenues lift 49% in Q3, boosted by international shipments

(Telecompaper) Xiaomi said revenues for the third quarter rose over 49 percent from the year before to CNY 50.846 billion. The company's net profit went to CNY 2.481 billion, a slide from the 14.6 billion recorded in the previous quarter. The adjusted net profit reached CNY 2.885 billion, up 17.3 percent year-on-year and 36.3 percent quarter-on-quarter. Smartphone shipments year-to-date passed 100 million units, reaching the company's target two months ahead of schedule.

Smartwatch shipments leap 67% in Q3, with Fitbit jumping into 2nd place behind Apple

(Telecompaper) Global smartwatch shipments leaped 67 percent year-on-year in the third quarter to 10 million units, according to the latest study from Strategy Analytics. The number was at 6.0 million the year before. Apple Watch maintained its top position with a worldwide market share of 45 percent, with Fitbit jumping into second place, overtaking Samsung and Garmin.

Global smartphone shipments down 6% in Q3 as Huawei, Xiaomi catch up with Samsung

(Telecompaper) Global smartphone shipments fell for the fourth consecutive quarter in July to September, accelerating to a 6.0 percent year on year decline (1.8% in Q2) according to the latest report from IDC. A total of 355.2 million units shipped in Q3, compared to 377.8 million a year earlier, as the Chinese market posted declining sales for the sixth straight quarter. IDC continued to maintain that the market will return to growth in 2019 but refrained from specifying what that growth will look like.

Global smartphone shipments fall again in Q3, down 8% to 360 mln

(Telecompaper) Global smartphone shipments fell 8 percent annually to 360 million units in the third quarter, according to Strategy Analytics. Samsung remained market leader with a 20 percent global market share, ahead of Huawei in second place, while Xiaomi and Oppo rose to record highs in fourth and fifth places.

Smart home device shipments to grow 55% in 2018

According to ABI Research, shipments of smart home devices will reach 252 million units by the end of 2018, up more than 55% from 2017. This growth is just the beginning of a smart home market that will see 467 million smart home device shipments in 2023.
