EPSSG Overall Ground Segment Integration and Verification Support

One of our clients in Germany is looking for an EPSSG Overall Ground Segment Integration and Verification Support. The key candidate will be a member of the EPSSG Overall Ground Segment Team in the Low Earth Orbit Division and be involved in supporting the EPSSG Overall Ground Segment development activities. During the EPSSG OGS development, the candidate will typically be involved in tasks related to the planning, preparation and execution of OGS IV activities and following up assessing IV activities performed as part of the OGS procurements. Closing date 20102016 Tasks Typical tasks will include Contributing to the production of all OGS I V documents during Phase C, and their implementation in Phase D. Updating and maintaining the OGS IV related schedule in coordination with Project Control. Coordinating the I V approach with the System team to ensure coherence and completeness of the EPSSG OGS and System level approaches. Following and assessing the IVV approach of all contributing elements of the OGS and ensure compatibility with the overall OGS IV Plan. Establishing and maintaining the verification control mechanisms. Ensuring accurate metrics on IV progress are maintained. Ensuring implementation of the OGS IV plan through lower level test documentation, processes, test execution and relevant OGS reviews. Attending sub segment IVV tests as an observer, witnessing tests where requirements are verified. Identifying and supporting the acquisition of all necessary Test Tools and Test Data. Supporting validation activities managed by the EPSSG System Team. Reporting on a weekly and monthly basis to GS Management. Qualifications A university degree in engineering e.g. space or software engineering, or an equivalent. Skills and experience The key person shall have the following experience, background and skills At least 5 years of general experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground systems, in the area of Earth observation from space. At least 3 years of involvement in the preparation andor execution of IV activities at Ground Segment level of such Systems. Experience with the preparation of test plans, test specifications andor test procedures, prepared for IV of such Systems. Experience of multilevel verification processes and implementation. Familiarity with procurement and use of Test Tools and Test Data. Strong interpersonal and team working skills, flexibility, and strengths in analysis and pragmatic judgement are required. Good computing skills with strong experience withability to use MS Office software Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.. The following are not required but would be additional assets Proficiency in using DOORS. Knowledge of systems development lifecycle. Knowledge of ECSS standards.

Maintaining operational ground stations databases. Investigation into anomalies, their documentation, classification and correction mitigation, participation in associated Anomaly Review Boards. Provision of training, through production and presentation of written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other members of the Operations Department. Qualifications A university degree in a relevant technical discipline or the equivalent ground stations experience. Skills and experience The Key Person shall have the following mandatory attributes At least five years experience in ground stations TTC operations in support of multiple Low Earth Orbit LEO andor Geostationary GEO spacecraft. At least five years experience in a realtime 247 spacecraft operations environment, ideally in an earth observation environment. Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills. Experience of the following would be a distinct advantage Major upgrades or evolutions of operational ground stations. Defining and implementing the verification and validation of ground stations. Interfaces between ground stations and ground segments. Firstline hardware and software failure diagnosis and correction. Baseband operation and configuration.
