Senior ICT Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a leading provider of operational services, technical consultancy and hightech products as well as integrated solutions to the global satellite industry. In this role, you will have the following responsibilities Specify, design, evaluate, implement and test a medium to large scale information and telecommunication infrastructure Procure equipment, software and services necessary to build and operate the infrastructure and manage shipment Supervise specification, design, and development work necessary for project implementation, including project control functions Work closely with governmental organizations on project implementations Carrying out site surveys Plan, monitor and assess performance of designed and implemented ICT infrastructure Specify, design, evaluate and operations and business support system OSSBSS Design and implement information technology infrastructure and applications needed to support government organizations in their functions Carry out modifications to comply with specific customer requirements and help customers defining their standards, interfaces and software and hardware technologies Advise customers setting up ICT strategy Advise customers in selection and implementation of selected ICT strategy and products Travel internationally to meet partners and customers and assist system deployments in the country Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent with experience in telecommunications andor computer science Minimum of 10 years experience in engineering of large, reliable, distributed client server applications and communication protocols Excellent knowledge in large scale ICT implementations for government organizations Excellent knowledge of specification, design, implementation, verification and validation of software application Excellent knowledge of specification, design, implementation, verification and validation of wide scale telecommunication networks Sound knowledge of system design, network design, deployment and operations Knowledge of the satellite RF technologies and satellite based communication Knowledge and experience in working with government customers Knowledge of wireless and mobile networks WiMax, LTE, etc Handson experience on deploying satellite based communication networks Experience in deploying regional or national ICT infrastructure Able to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced and changing environment Experienced with VSAT products specially iDirect and Gilat products andor network planning and modeling would be additional asset Personal skills communication skills, analytical sense, coordination and priority setting facilities, problem perception, assessment and solving, autonomy and team work, flexibility and mobility Fluency in English is mandatory, knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
