Qualcomm to develop chipsets for Facebook's Terragraph wireless broadband service

(Telecompaper) Qualcomm has given its backing to Facebook's Terragraph technology to develop wireless broadband services in the 60 GHz band. The chipmkaer announced that the companies will work together to develop a multi-node wireless system based on 60GHz technology from Qualcomm Technologies. The new system is expected to improve the speed, efficiency and quality of internet connectivity in urban areas at a fraction of the cost of fibre deployments.

Facebook's first enforcement report shows 583 mln fake accounts disabled Q1

(Telecompaper) After opening up its Community Standards to the public for the first time, Facebook has now released a Community Standards Enforcement Report, covering six areas, including graphic violence, adult nudity and sexual activity, terrorist propaganda, hate speech, spam, and fake accounts. Most of the action taken was to remove spam content and the fake accounts used to distribute that spam. Facebook noted that while its artificial intelligence technology found and flagged many standard violations, more progress needed to be done.

Facebook's Clear History Privacy Option: Boon or Sop?

Facebook plans to offer members a tool that to prevent tracking of their online activity outside the network. The Clear History feature will allow users to see which websites and applications send Facebook information when they use them, delete the data and prevent Facebook from collecting and storing it in the future. It will take a few months to build the tool, Facebook said.
