US imports from China have significantly declined in full 2019, being negatively affected by the US additional tariffs imposed as of September 1st. Most other countries have taken advantage of China's setback, with different results depending on product categories and origins, as reflected by our data. Sri Lanka garment and textile exports up over 5% in 2019

Sri Lanka recorded over 5% growth in the export of textiles and garments in 2019, new data shows, thanks to growth in exports to non-traditional markets such as Canada, Australia and China.

A declining China has been replaced by other suppliers with currency variations helping Turkey in controlling the higher end of the market, whereas Bangladesh was struggling with higher export prices.
