Engineer, Wireless Networks Luxembourg Betzdorf Within the Services Integration Operations division, the position is responsible for integrating and commissioning terrestrial connectivity services as part of ValueAdd Services connected to a baseline satcom infrastructure. The incumbent will work with customers to ensure wired and wireless solutions LAN, WIFI, VoIP, LTE are integrated to their expectations. The role will be primarily focused on WiFi services of the SES product portfolio, but also includes other products and services. The candidate will be responsible for support escalations and ongoing maintenance to ensure the network is maintained for customer SLA requirements. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULTS AREAS Participate in lifecycle of a customer project, Post Sales through to Customer Acceptance Configuration, testing, implementation of SES wireless products Provide technical operations support for the various wireless networks deployed Complete Operations Engineering changes as required, adhering to the defined Company ITIL Change Management process Liaise and support the sections in charge of commissioning the satcom platformsites and network solutions, support on occasional cases Interface with customers and support the integration of SES products with their infrastructure Work with Engineering Product Development Teams by participating in development activities aiming at growing the product portfolio Work efficiently as part of a Global Services multidisciplinary team Adhere to delivery schedules and manage time accordingly Ensure the configuration, testing implementation of SES Products Interact with other operational groups and support coordination of projects Proactively expand areas of knowledge and seek out new experience Ensure the development and the regular update of technical support documentation Develop a full understanding of existing SES processes procedures to provide input for continuous improvement Administration of Monitoring Tools to support customer solutions Perform other tasks as requested required Stay uptodate with stateoftheart IT concepts and technologies Oncall support duties will be required 247 on a rotational basis COMPETENCIES Ability to integrate into crossfunctional andor virtual project teams Good analytical and problemsolving skills ability to frame complex problems or business issues and can elaborate and articulate alternative solutions To quickly grasp Scope of Works and deliver on SLA Proactive approach towards potential andor current customers Flexible attitude to working hours, allowing seamless support for customers take ownership of incidents, from inception through conclusion High attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to understand priorities and to proactively deliver results, even under tight deadlines Ability to overcome resistance to change Resourcefully working through, or around, obstacles to complete tasks Ability to learn new technologies quickly Understanding of Agile Methodologies QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE University degree Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or equivalent experience with communications satellite systems or similar advanced technical support role Minimum 5 years of professional experience in designing, building or supporting RAN Networks, preferably in an integrator andor service provider environment Experience with wireless technologies, such as WiFi, WiMax. WAP LTE Knowledge of IEEE Standards, such as 802.11 bgnac Understanding of VoIP technologies. Demonstrated understanding of BGP, OSPF and MPLS, Layer 2 3 VPNs and IPsec Knowledge and deployment experience of Quality of Service within a network Familiarity with the MX, SRX, EX Juniper product lines Familiarity of CiscoMeraki product lines Good working knowledge of WAN Optimization Products Experience with Unix Linux systems administration and creation shell scripts to automate tasks Proven experience with network analysis and with SNMP, NTP, DNS, SSH, etc. Experience of integrating communication systems with multiple vendor components Experience with physical design best practices, e.g., rack installation, cabling and management Working knowledge of dealing directly with customers and understand how to manage expectations Experience of integrating communication systems with multiple vendor components and providing tested end to end managed services Knowledge of Satellitebased communication systems Juniper certifications and experience preferred e.g. JNCIS JNCIP Cisco certifications, e.g. CCNP or CWNP, preferred ExcellentGood command of MS Office package Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset Willingness to travel internationally Whats in it for you? ACM warns Dutch fibre roll-out at risk from duplicate networks

(Telecompaper) The expansion of fibre broadband in the Netherlands is at risk due to competitive operators duplicating networks, the ACM warned. The competition and telecom regulator's fibre market study suggests operators should cooperate more on the roll-out and local authorities can do more to stop duplicate networks.
