Demand for cotton is strong from foreign spinners and could support yarn prices in the coming period. Cotton yarn prices have slightly dropped in the last seven days in China, reflecting a poor level of demand, with spinning mills cutting operating rates, in addition. Import prices are however rising, and demand for foreign yarns is also dropping, as a result. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Cotton prices have very slightly risen in the past week in New York, whereas also stabilizing on the Indian domestic market. US export sales have begun slowing down at these higher price levels.
