China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Shipments of Indian cotton yarns to China have surged in October, reflecting the lack of competitiveness of Chinese spinners on the market for lower counts, as domestic cotton prices have stayed unchanged for months at a high level. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton futures have surged above their recent price range in the last week in New York, over a continuous jump in export sales. India's production could be much smaller than expected, whereas strong demand is reported from Pakistan, Turkey, Bangladesh and Vietnam, meaning cotton prices could stay firm in the coming period. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". EU Clothing Imports in 3rd Quarter and January-September 2017: Markets (Quarterly Report)

Shipments to Spain have further surged in the third quarter this year whereas UK clothing imports from outside the European Union were again dropping as a result of the lower value of the Sterling and the consecutive jump of unit prices in domestic currency terms. The UK however remains the largest importer in volume terms with Spain now ranking third. Our 5-year data from third quarter and Jan-Sep 2012 reflect long-term trends of European Union clothing markets, offering a comprehensive review of the European Union imports per destination.
