China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton yarn import prices are falling in China, with domestic spinners being consecutively pressured. Polyester and viscose spun are further recovering in the meantime. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Cotton prices have begun tumbling in Pakistan, as first arrivals from the new crop will soon reach local markets. This is the second sign of an expected fall of cotton prices, only a few weeks after New York futures have plunged. The ICAC has just confirmed that prices will sharply decline in 2017-18. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India and Pakistan are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download.
