Yarn prices are relatively firm in India, thanks to a recent rise of cotton prices and although demand from China is currently dwindling. With cotton yarn production expected to rise this year, prices could be pressured in the coming months. Our comprehensive review of Indian yarn markets covers the domestic markets in Ludhiana (Punjab) and Indore (Madhya Pradesh), with a wide range of products and counts, including cotton yarns (carded and combed), polyester spun, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose and polyester-acrylic. Export market prices are also available for both cotton and polyester-cotton.

Publix Super Markets CEO is stepping down

The company announced that Crenshaw will step down effective April 30. Upon Crenshaw's retirement, current company President Todd Jones will become president and CEO. "The board of directors is grateful for Ed's 42 years of dedicated service to Publix, our associates and the communities we serve," said Charlie Jenkins Jr., Publix chairman of the Board.

Yarn prices have continued to fall in China ahead of new year holidays. With demand for foreign yarns collapsing over higher import prices in yuan terms, the domestic spinners could enjoy better prices and margins after Chinese new year. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. Historical data are available for download.
