Airtel Africa revenue rises 7% in Q1, customer base up by 12%

(Telecompaper) Airtel Africa said its revenues increased by 6.9 percent to USD 851 million in the first three months to 30 June from USD 796 million in the same period of 2019 with constant currency revenue growth of 13 percent, which was partially offset by devaluation mainly in Nigeria (6.9%), Zambia (28.3%) and Kenya (4.4%). The revenue growth was largely driven by the growth of the customer base by 11.8 percent to 111.5 million and ARPU growth of 1.6 percent in constant currency.

Ooredoo Kuwait revenue falls 5% in H1, customer base down 3%

(Telecompaper) Ooredoo Kuwait said that revenues decreased by 5 percent to KWD 294.1 million in the first six months to 30 June from KWD 310.4 million a year earlier. Revenues in Kuwaiti dinars were hit by lower sales in Kuwait, substantial support for local customers free of charge, a decrease in Algerian revenue mainly due to the weak economic environment, currency devaluation, price competition and the impact of Covid-19 and related business limitations in all operations.

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY 6month internship, starting at earliest convenience This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Customer Service Delivery CSD team in a fastpaced, global organization within an innovative and unique industry. Based in Luxembourg Betzdorf, you will be involved in developing a graphical interface, representation and configuration tool for our Carrier System Monitoring CSM which will allow us to graphically configure our remote monitoring systems and generate the database configuration file for input to our SQL database. This should also be able to read the database and give a graphical interpretation of the database configuration. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Generate outline requirements and specifications for the database graphical interface tools Specify the software packages required Present solutionpresentation and create a beta version for evaluation Demonstrate full system to management for final approval on development Communicate regularly with technical and operational staff on the concepts and progress Commission and install new application andor customize COTS applications to make them compatible with the database graphical user interface requirements Create an offline demonstration of the full functionality of the tools created TD environment Create full detailed documentation of the functionality of the system and fully comment any coding Write user documentation, procedures and definitions YOUR PROFILE Current and advanced student in Computer Science Bachelors or Masters degree Excellent analytical and judgment skills, experience with database systems Ability to set priorities and to work under tight deadlines Computer literacy MS office suit, MS SQL, PHP, HTML, AJAX, SOAP, Visio Ability to work independently as well as in a team Ease with communication at all levels Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset EU nationality or work permit for Luxembourg.
