Hot on the heels of the news that Virgin Media is to close down one of its UK based call centres, came the news that Britain's internet service providers are racking up some fairly atrocious scores in the customer satisfaction stakes. Ofcom's report into the best and worst providers of broadband in the UK, was published this week, and was fairly damning in its findings, with none of the UK's ISPs covering themselves in glory. TalkTalk was awarded the dunce hat for its customer service efforts regarding its broadband services. Nearly 1 in 5 TalkTalk customers said that they had had reason to complain about the levels of service they received this year. Reliance Jio accelerates customer growth to 26.5 mln net additions in Q1

(Telecompaper) Indian mobile operator Reliance Jio reported continued strong growth in its fiscal fourth quarter to March, adding a net 26.5 million new customers for a total 186.6 million. That's up from 21.5 million net additions in the previous quarter. The company also claims it's the biggest mobile data provider in the country, with nearly all its customers using mobile internet.

Sky shows steady growth in sales, profit in Q3, customer growth slows

(Telecompaper) Sky reported steady growth in revenues and profit for the fiscal third quarter to March, while customer growth slowed at the pay-TV provider, due to losses in Italy and Germany. Revenues rose 5 percent year-on-year to GBP 10.14 billion in the first nine months of the fiscal year, and recurring EBITDA was up 14 percent to GBP 1.78 billion.
