DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Hilda was located near latitude 14.8 North, longitude 120.8 West. Hilda is moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h). A west-northwestward to northwestward motion at a slower forward speed is expected during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds remain near 85 mph (140 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast today, with gradual weakening expected to begin on Monday. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km). The estimated minimum central pressure is 985 mb (29.09 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None. The post-tropical cyclone is stationary. A slow westward to west-northwestward motion is expected to begin later today and continue during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected over the next couple of days.
