DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1000 PM CDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Enrique was located near latitude 16.3 North, longitude 104.1 West. Enrique is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). The storm is forecast to gradually slow down and turn toward the northwest Saturday night or Sunday, and then continue on a northwesterly heading through Monday. On the forecast track, the core of Enrique is expected to remain offshore roughly parallel to the southwestern coast of Mexico during the next two to three days. Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts. Rapid strengthening is forecast during the next day or so, and Enrique is likely to become a hurricane later tonight or on Saturday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 995 mb (29.39 inches).
