LSE Space is looking for experienced Engineer mfd in order to fulfill the duty of Spacecraft Operations Engineer CryoSat2 and Swarm for our customer ESAESOC in DarmstadtGermany. For our activities at ESAESOC, we are currently seeking to employ highly motivated and enthusiastic Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support the Aeolus and Cryosat missions within the Earth Observation Missions family but with the possibility of supporting other missions within this family. Responsibilities and Duties The general activities of the SOE for CryoSat2 and Swarm are Preparation and execution of nominal and contingency flight operations procedures. Coordination of operations with ESA internal and external partners. Execution of Mission Planning. Production of procedures, validation test plans and reports for project specific software and systems both Ground and Space related. Participation in systems test campaigns, training and simulation programmes. General flight control support service including oncall. Spacecraft performance monitoring and reporting on regular basis. Anomaly investigation and resolution. Qualifications University degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Strong technical background in Data Handling area. Proven knowledge of hardware embarked on ESA spacecraft. Good understanding of realtime operating software. Broad knowledge and experience with modern software. Onboard software management principles. Good understanding of the PUS standard, the spacetoground interface and onboard routing. Capable of developing basic software tools to support complex analysis and anomaly investigation. Ability to work in an organised manner, with good reporting skills and reliable deadline meeting. Fluency in English. The following skills would be highly desirable Former experience as Data Handling SOE. Hands on familiarity with operational tools MCS, Simulator, DB browser, MOIS or equivalent tool. Handson familiarity in SVT and flight procedures development. Familiarity with low Earth orbit satellites, including basic mission analysis and data handling observation scheduling aspects. Familiarity with other platform subsystems will be a plus. The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and multiple missions simultaneously. European travel. . Location of work DarmstadtGermany. We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE who will have the primary responsibility for the Aeolus Payload chain, including the Insitu Cleaning System and the related interfaces for Mission Planning and with Industry and payload related externals PDGS, Mission Scientist. The SOE will work in close coordination with the prime Payload and ICS engineers. The Engineer will be extended to additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services, and participation in the oncall rotation.
