For our customer, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking for a Data Processing Operations Engineer as part of the Copernicus Program. Responsibilities The candidate shall perform system engineering tasks in support to the Copernicus Programme. Typical activities to be undertaken are Data Processing Operations contribute to raising, processing and coordinating anomalies, their documentation, investigation, classification and resolutionmitigation, including participation in relevant Anomaly Review Boards contribute to coordination and implementation of ground segment modifications, including their documentation, approval, implementation, testing and training participate in data processing team meetings and associated activities and reviews where required in the area of data processing operations Operational Monitoring and Reporting contribute to the design, development, documentation and maintenance of tools that provide production statistics reports and support the monitoring and operations of the data processing and related auxiliary data flows generation of the Copernicus KPIs Operational Documentation contribute to the generation, maintenance and update of data processing operations related design, user documentation, procedures or operations guides, for example as a result of a system update or a validation activity perform operational validation of the operational procedures and coordinate specific operational validation test OVT campaigns Interface with other teams and partners liaise and coordinate as required with external operational partners and other service providers Evolutions of the data processing acquire and maintain an operational view of the payload data ground segment, as well as a systemwide understanding of its interfaces with multimission elements MMEs and external interfaces review any planned changes or evolutions to the system configurations for the ground segment to assess potential operational impacts contribute to the integration and validation of components deliveries, as well as implementation of new products, including configuration control activities Operations Build up support the operations build up contribute to validation campaigns, participate to commissioning reviews and commissioning operations participate and coordinate the joint test campaigns with the operational partners This is a fulltime position to be located at Eumetsats premises in Darmstadt with the planned start ASAP. Please note this service requires also standby support and callout support. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have a university degree or equivalent in a discipline relevant to the job profile and a minimum of three years of experience in the operations of realtime, complex, satellite instrument data processing systems. Essential skills are demonstrated experience in near real time, data driven, automated systems with large computer networks demonstrated experience with UNIXLinux operating systems. fluent English skills conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work under pressure and with a minimum of supervision. The following experience would be an additional asset demonstrated experience of Instrument data and product processing Level0 to 2 of meteorological andor earth observation products experience of validating complex remote sensing data processing systems development and maintenance of operational procedures andor configuration data programming languages e.g. C, C and IDL scripting languages and databases e.g. Perl, Python, shell, Oracle spacecraft andor ground segment operations knowledge andor experience of quality control, calibration and validation. You shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan your work and cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. You shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written are important. You shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. The Fleet Operations Associate Spacecraft Operations Engineer is a team member of one of four operations crews and reports to the Fleet Management Mission Director and performs all activities and tasks necessary to control the fleet of OneWeb satellites. This is a shift work position. Control of the fleet is highly automated and therefore the controllerengineer is an expert in operation of the command and control applications software, the satellite subsystems, the mission management software, mission planning system, and interfaces to other elements of the system. The controllerengineer facilitates execution of the schedule, manages automation, but predominantly performs manual and contingency commanding as required. Controllers also participate in procedure development, test and validation, automation rule set development, test and deployment. The Fleet Operations UK Satellite Operations Center UKSOC Spacecraft Engineer position is a shift position, reporting to the onshift Mission Director, and works closely with the Spacecraft Operators to respond to satellite anomalies and payload system outages to maintain quality of service of a large constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. The chief responsibility of the spacecraft engineer is to maintain satellite payload service performance, health and satellite safety. The spacecraft engineer is the focal point for anomaly detection and resolution but also analyzes and trends OneWeb satellite data and directs satellite configuration changes to maintain performance within defined parameters. The spacecraft engineer is the liaison between the satellite control and subsystem and system engineers to resolve satellite issues. The engineer drafts mission planning requests and manual contingency command plans when required. The Fleet Operations Mission Planner MP is an engineer reporting to the Mission Planning Lead and is responsible for all aspects of spacecraft operations planning. A successful candidate is an engineer or technician with satellite subsystem and operations knowledge. The MP understands constraints to satellite and ground system operations, activity dependencies, systems limitations, and operational priorities. Tasks include analyzing and processing planning requests for feasibility, contact scheduling, and mission plan development and publishing. In addition, the Mission planner will process realtime change requests and modifications to the plan. The planner interfaces with other crew positions, resolves conflicts, and makes notifications per the Mission Planning process. Responsibilities Development, deconfliction, and publishing of the constellation mission plan Receive, process, screen and deploy spacecraft activity schedules Deconflict plan requests based on operational priorities and constraints Configure, operate, and troubleshoot planning system software applications Respond to unscheduled outages, applications software issuesfailures Perform onconsole mission planning activities in a rotating shift environment Required Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will have experience in Satellite and ground system operations Activity prioritization and planning Realtime schedule deconfliction Spacecraft activity feasibility analysis Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of all aspects of job and take initiative Excellent oral and written skills and communication briefing skills is essential. A minimum of 2 years of aerospace industry or equivalent experience required with 5 years preferred. Direct experience in resource or mission planning software application system configuration and operation, Launch and Early Obit Operations, sustaining Satellite Operations, and Flight Dynamics is highly desirable.
