Space Operations Development Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Operations Group, you will have the following responsibilities Development of technical documentation Operational Handbooks, IOT Plan, Commissioning Plan, etc. Development, test and validation of flight procedures Analysis and clarification of anomalies Technical support for ground control and operations for customers Participation in telephone conferences and reviews with customers and subcontractors w.r.t. operational development and approval SCC etc. Technical support and provision of expertise for the LEOP IOT subcontractor Participation in the development of platform and payload IOTs Technical clarification of operations queries with subsystem system engineers Participation in preparing operator training material Supporting project reviews. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant discipline Professional experience in the area of space operations development First experience with LEOP, IOT, Commissioning, routine operations, and ideally GEO satellites Several years of experience in space operations, development andor implementation Knowledge of ECSS standards Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another German is an advantage. Data Processing Operations Engineering Support 1413042 Job Description The tasks of the key person will typically include Supporting routine operations involving the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems, including Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems and the quality and availability of the MSG and MTP Level 1 and Level 2 products and EPS Level 0 to Level 2 products Investigating anomalies relating to the performance of the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems and the quality and availability of the MSG and MTP Level 1 and Level 2 and EPS Level 0 to Level 2 products Preparing and reviewing technical documentation relating to data processing operations Providing Standby callout support Supporting the further development of the MSG and EPS data processing systems, including the specification and validation of system updates Supporting the operations preparations for future MSG and EPS spacecrafts Supporting the preparations for Meteosat Third Generation Attendance at technical meetings Participation in formal reviews. Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. A minimum of 3 years experience in the realtime acquisition, Level 0 processing and Level 1 processing of data andor Level 2 processing of data from imaging andor sounding instruments on remote sensing spacecraft Significant experience of validating complex remote sensing data processing systems Experience with UNIXLinux operating systems. The key person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision. Desirable Skills and Experience Experience with or knowledge of some of the following Imaging and sounding instrumentation for remote sensing spacecraft Programming Languages e.g. C, C and Fortran Scripting Languages e.g. Perl, Python, shell Spacecraft andor ground segment operations Knowledge andor experience of geophysical remote sensing data processing, e.g. Image Navigation and Registration INR, radiometric correction, calibration algorithms and retrieval of geophysical parameters Knowledge of French Good communication skills.
