The main tasks of the position will be Support to analysis and review of the Galileo documentation, especially review of element and segment data packs including OHB SC WO3 Input for AR and NCR related issues raising, tracking, monitoring Input for KMF related Requirements monitoring, tracking and checking Support for KMF related update processes patches, installation Responsible for generation of documentation concepts, plans, guidelines according to the OPS DRL Responsible for ops ground procedure validation and preparation Support to test execution and simulation campaign plan preparation Support to classified deliveries as currier andor the preparation itself Responsible for KMF training preparation and execution Support to KMF maintenance activities Routine activities on SKMF for mission support OnCall support on request for KMF issues outside of office hours and on weekendsholidays Input for CCR, PR, SDT generation, implementation and updates Required qualifications and work experience A Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering or in an equivalent discipline A minimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace engineering Experience with using computer systems is required Experience in operating spacecraft or related ground system is a requirement Additional skills required Systemminded and a team player Able to work in an interdisciplinary team Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision Fluent in English, both in speech and writing Benefits A permanent employment contract. Tasks The Galileo Project requires engineering service support for monitoring and controlling the overall preparation of the ground segment and execution of the Galileo operations activities. The service will support the activities of the Galileo Constellation Operations Unit HSOOGC in the coordinating of the definition, deployment, validation, and operation of the Galileo Ground Control infrastructure, as required to meet the overall Galileo service needs. The Ground Control Segment infrastructure is deployed and operated mainly in the Galileo Control Centre GCC in Oberpfaffenhofen Germany and Fucino as backup. In addition GCS elements are deployed at the LEOP centres Darmstadt, Toulouse. Remote elements, like the five SBand TTCF stations, are deployed around the globe. The service will be provided to the Galileo Constellation Operations Unit in particular the ESA Control Segment Operations Engineer at GCCD, covering the following tasks Monitoring the activities of the Operations Service provider on its operations and maintenance activities of the Galileo Control Segment in the GCCs and the remote sites Followup the development, integration, verification and operational validation of the Galileo Ground Control segment within the context of the overall Galileo system Support the development of requirements for evolution of the Galileo Control Segment to improve operability Support the procurement process for the Operations Service Provider for the Ground Control Segment maintenance and operations aspects, and monitor their implementation Support and coordinate the interaction between the Operations and the Ground Control Segment providers, ensuring the coherency of the maintenance and operations concept for the Control Segment, at system, segment and element level Participation on Galileo related Anomaly Review Boards, Change Control Boards, reviews panels, as required. Essential requirements Significant experience of senior engineering activities in ground control of similarly complex computer infrastructure deployed for space operation related activities. A proven experience in in a commercialindustrial environment is required. Experience related to developments in the Galileo project GIOVE, IOV will be considered an asset. Based at Oberpfaffenhofen D, the work will require regular travelling to ESOC, ESTEC, Fucino IT and other European sites. The service providers should have Academic Requirements University degree or equivalent education in Electric or Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering.
