SK Broadband adds 138,000 IPTV subscribers in 2Q 2021

August 11, 2021 SK Telecom (NYSE:SKM) has announced results for the second quarter of 2021. The company added 138k IPTV subscribers in the quarter to finish with 8.81m pay-TV subscribers in total (IPTV 5.92m, CATV 2.89m).

At the start of July, Openreach announced a major change to the pricing of their gigabit-capable fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) broadband products, reducing their cost for the UK’s ISPs and providing them with long-term price security.    The so-called Equinox pricing will offer significant discounts for ISPs to make use of the network, in some cases lowering monthly rental costs by up to a third.
