Job description The Ground Stations play a key role in Space and Ground Segment operations, the Key person will therefore be expected to acquire and maintain a Systemwide view of the Ground Segment, particularly in the areas of spacecraft TTC and payload data transfer. The tasks of the Key person will typically include Investigation and rectification of anomalies reported by the operationsmaintenance team Interface with the maintenance services providers at technical level Reporting on the performance of the Ground Stations and associated systems together with a status report of any ongoing activities Attendance at the relevant coordination meetings to plan and schedule Ground Station activities ensuring compliance with Operational activities and constraints Provision of Ground Stations support to operations during critical mission phases, pre and post launch i.e. SVT, LEOP, IOT and contingency Maintenance of operational Ground Stations procedures, databases and documentation in accordance with the configuration management and quality assurance practices Planning and scheduling the implementation, testing and validation phases of any modificationsimprovements Providing technical support for the management of ongoing Ground Stations contracts including changes Provide support to new programs in the areas of definition, development and integration of Ground Stations Provision of support to the analysis of obsolescence and evolution changes to the ground stations. Requirements In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have At least 5 years experience in the 247 Operations and Maintenance of Large Ground Stations andor Ground Stations EngineeringIntegration used for GEO andor LEO missions Experience in Ground Station design, integration and testing, particularly in the areas of Antenna, RF, Base Band and Tracking subsystems, including the generation of Requirement definition and ICD specifications Experience in implementation of relevant ECSS standards and CCSDS recommendations concerning Space Link Services and Space Link Extension SLE protocols Experience in operation and configuration of various types of Baseband equipment including integrated TTC and ranging systems i.e. Cortex type and High Data Rate Modulators and Demodulators Experience in maintenance and Operation of large Ground Stations particularly in Local and Remote MC including databases and automated procedures, redundancy management, Site Infrastructure and liaison with Service providers Experience in analogue and digital modulationdemodulation schemes used on the Ground to Space interface for TTC, Mission data transmission and Data Collection Systems Experience in execution of Spacecraft interface verification testing, prior to launch in support of the SVT, and post launch in the form of RF IOT as part of Spacecraft Commissioning Fluency in English.

We are looking for an Ground Stations Maintenance and Engineering Support to work at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks The Key person shall work in the System Engineering and Projects Division SEP, of the TSS Department as a member of the Ground Stations Team GSt supporting the operational Ground Stations as well as the integration and operational preparation of the Ground Stations required for Meteosat Third Generation Programme MTG and the EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation EPSSG. Desirable requirements In addition, the knowledge and experience of some of the following subjects would be considered as a distinct advantage Commercial satellite and micro wave data links Basic knowledge of WAN, LAN and TCPIP protocol In Orbit Test I.O.T. systems deployment Radar Principles.
