Responsibilities Duties Tasks Our subsidiary CS GmbH, located in Darmstadt, Germany is looking for a Software Engineer. The activity will be performed onsite at our client site, ESOC the operations center for ESA based in Darmstadt. You will integrate a team of software engineers under the direction of the project manager in CS GmbH. You will be able to demonstrate technical skills and knowledge in the following Cyber Security Application rollout CICD, orchestration and DevOps tools VMWare, GitLabGerrit and other development environment tools Use and operation of Docker and container orchestration technologies ESOC operational environment environment and network setup MBSE Agile Scrum development as product Owner, ESOC infrastructure e.g. Scos2000, SIMSAT, SIMULUS Standards Engineering and Quality UnixLinuxwindows environments Configuration management such as SVN GIT In addition you will have Very good communication skills as well as business level English, Experience working in an international environment and working across functional teams. Position Reference 851 In order to offer an expert support both on Engineering and Coordination aspects, we are currently looking for a Galileo Services Facilities expert, to work at the European GNSS Agency in the beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Coordination of the Galileo Service Facilities Activities. Maintenance of the Work Plan for Service Facilities Support and Site Engineering task support and provision of progress reports. Maintain the requirements of the Galileo Service Facility and the hosting site interface requirements including update of DOORS database. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in the relevant discipline. At least 3 years of relevant working experience in GalileoEGNSS environment. The position focuses on the coordination of handson activities and experiments for university students related to microgravity and hypergravity platforms. In cooperation with the facility operators, and with other professional specialists, the key person will support the selection of experiments proposed by university student teams, and will followup their projects throughout their lifecycle concept, design, development, testing, experiment campaign, data analysis, both from a programmatic and engineering viewpoint. The set of programmes includes Drop Your Thesis, Spin Your Thesis, Fly Your Thesis, Spin Your Thesis Human and Orbit Your Thesis. Occasional support for other ESA Academy activities, including deliverydevelopment of training courses may also be required. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Support the preparation and the publication of the Call for Proposals for the student projects, the review and the evaluation of the proposals, and the projects selection process. Liaise with the partners andor with the organisations which are involved in the conduct of the student handson project universities, space agencies, industries, or other associations, and ESA colleagues. Liaise with the student teams involved in the ESA Academys handson space projects, to ensure they receive the due financial or logistics support. Coordinate the technical supervision of the student projects with the support of professional specialists from ESA and the other partners, as available, to ensure compliance to requirements, applicable standards, and good space engineering practice. Supervise the preparation and conduct of project meetings, project reviews, test campaigns, and of workshops or conferences. Assist Young Graduate Trainees assigned to the programmes in subject. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Masters degree or PhD in Engineering, with at least 4 years of relevant working experience. Experience in the management of space project. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to coordinate effectively work contributions from several different parties. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders ESA, the involved international partners, industry, academia and students. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. The following skills would be highly desirable Knowledge of the university student programmes conducted by ESAs Education Office. Well organised, shall be able to show good spirit of initiative, and shall own good skills and experience in the management of space projects shall have good skills to coordinate effectively work contributions from several different parties, and shall possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders ESA, the involved international partners, industry, academia and students. Knowledge of the university student programmes conducted by ESAs Education Office is an asset. Have excellent communication skills. Proficient in the English Language Spoken and Written. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with ESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
