Software Engineer Project Manager Technical Leader

Responsibilities Duties Tasks Our subsidiary CS GmbH, located in Darmstadt, is looking for a Project ManagerTechnical Leader. The activity will be performed at CS GmbH premises at Darmstadt. The key person will integrate the backoffice to manage a team of software engineers ensuring the development and maintenance of space softwaresystems. The selected candidate will report directly to the project director of CS GmbH. This activity includes, among others, the following tasks Management of the project team Followup of activities and anticipate needs Reporting to the team and management Monthly accounting reporting to the management Support to technical meetings with customers Mandatory skills background You will have M.Sc. in Computer Science Engineer, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent. You will also be able to demonstrate at least 3 years of demonstrated handson experience in Project Management disciplines i.e. risk management, action control, reporting, planning Development life cycle systems engineering You will have a strong technical background in the space domain and Ground Segment software with experience in software development or maintenance in the space environment for ESA andor EUMETSAT In addition you will Be fully proficient in business English Have a sound knowledge of related QA processes and procedures, preferably applied in space projects ECSS Have good office computing skills and handson experience in using the MS Office Suite Have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to interface efficiently with both the management and technical level Have the ability to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner and be able to work calmly and correctly under stress Be able to draft concise management reports and executive level presentations in English and the capability and experience to fulfil the assigned support tasks with a minimum of supervision Have experience of working on a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. Spaceopal is the prime service operations contractor for the European Galileo Satellite Navigation System and manages all Galileo Service Operations. The awarded European Commission EC contract to Spaceopal is more than just its satellites in space. Galileo Service Operations will provide highquality positioning, navigation and timing services to users across the whole world as a civilcontrolled service with guaranteed continuity of coverage. Tasks and Responsibilities The CADM Engineer Manager will be responsible for the provision of engineering support in delivering a safe and efficient Configuration Management service in cooperation with the ILS and CADM Manager. This includes in particular Continual development of existing CADM processes suitable to the business needs of Spaceopal in liaison with ILS and CADM Manager as well as Quality Manager Implementing the configuration management policy and standards in the company and for the GSOp Project Ensuring changes to the configuration are properly approved and communicated Maintaining integrity of the CADM database in CMAT and other tools by updating of configuration status datainformation in centralized tools Supporting enhancement of CMAT to comply with user needs Identifying and proposing to the management eventual improvements and innovation on tools and processes of the company, with particular attention to the documentation management domain Coordinate the work of the documentalists Implementing customer configuration change note instructions and liaising with customers, project management and quality teams Participating to Configuration Control Boards, documentingtracing status of Change Requests and Board decisions, partly chairing CCBs andor acting as secretary to the CCB chair Followingup sortingout problems related to the processing of CCRs inputoutput Performing quality checks, monitoring the correct usage status tracking of CCRs in centralized tools and trigger correctionsupdates in case of issues Supporting the preparation and review of CADM related reports Supporting the development and maintenance of the Product and Configuration Item Tree and underlying configuration item attributesdata Supporting the review and handover of configuration itemsassets to the project from external parties Supporting the execution of configuration audits Ensuring consistency of asset records and status within centralized tooldatabase Liaising with relevant PoC at subcontractor level Supporting the ILS and CADM Manager in the decisions making processes of the domain and towards the management when necessary, for instance through active participation to Coordination Meetings Required Qualification and Experience University degree in a relevant field e.g. Engineering, Economics or Telecommunications or relevant work experience Experience in similar activities, better if acquired in Space or Defence programs, or in highly securitysensitive commercial sectors Used to work target oriented, good organisational skills time management, efficiency, dealing with parallel issues, etc. Strong attitude to team work, also leveraging resources not directly dependent on himher Familiarity with Project Management processes and tools Experienced in Configuration Management disciplines and underlying datainformation handling Structures, Baseline Management etc. Experiences related to standardisation and quality reviewsaudits Familiar with Configuration Management standardsbestpractices e.g. ITIL, ECSS etc. Familiar with tools for Configuration, Documentation and Asset Management Good software skills, related software configuration verification methods and general software designsetup, configuration concepts Commitment and conscientiousness, customer orientation, good communication skills Fluent written and spoken English, fluency in German andor Italian is appreciated Fluency in standard office automation tools MS Office, Email, Internet, etc. Experience in the Galileo program will be a preferential factor.
