Cisco quarterly revenues fall 8%, sees bigger drop in July quarter

(Telecompaper) Cisco's revenues turned lower in its fiscal third quarter to April, down 8 percent year-on-year to USD 12.0 billion, and net earnings fell 6 percent to USD 0.65 per share. The company said it expects a further decline in the July quarter, with revenues down 8.5-11.5 percent annually and EPS of USD 0.57-0.62.

(Telecompaper) Preliminary operating revenues for the quarter fell 2 percent from the year before to CNY 181.3 billion, impacted by measures taken during the coronavirus (covid-19) pandemic and despite service revenue rising 1.8 percent to CNY 168.9 billion. Revenue from the sale of products and others was down 34.9 percent to CNY 12.4 billion, mainly due to lower handset and IoT device sales amid the virus hit. Meanwhile, EBITDA slipped 5.8 percent to CNY 68.5 billion while the profit attributable to shareholders dipped 0.8 percent lower to RMB 23.5 billion.

Developed telecom markets to show 3.4% fall in revenues in 2020 due to Covid-19 crisis

Veon revenues fall in Q3 on weak Russian market, Pakistan court ruling

(Telecompaper) Veon reported a drop in revenues for the third quarter, hurt by drop in customers in its largest market Russia and a negative tax ruling in Pakistan. Revenues fell 4.0 percent to USD 2.223 billion and were down 0.9 percent on an organic basis. Veon said it was still on track for its full year outlook of low single digit organic growth, after a 4.6 percent increase over the first nine months.

Poly accelerates cost synergies plan as revenues fall short in Q2

(Telecompaper) Poly, the company formed from Plantronics and Polycom, reported revenues for its fiscal first quarter to June of USD 448 million, double the USD 221 million a year earlier thanks to the takeover of Polycom. The figure was below the company's guidance, prompting Poly to accelerate its plans to realise cost savings from the merger.
