Vodafone leads fall in Dutch mobile service revenues in Q1, Tele2 grows market share

(Telecompaper) Dutch mobile service revenues fell 7.0 percent year-on-year to EUR 941 million in the first quarter of 2017, hurt by regulatory effects as well as continued price pressure and tough competition. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, revenues fell 3.0 percent, according to the latest quarterly report from Telecompaper.

Qualcomm quarterly results fall, sees flat revenues, lower profit ahead

(Telecompaper) Qualcomm reported revenues for its fiscal second quarter to March down 13 percent year-on-year to USD 5.26 billion, in line with its outlook. Compared to the previous quarter, revenues rose 5 percent. Net earnings dropped 52 percent to USD 363 million or USD 0.24 per share, hurt by restructuring charges of USD 310 million. The chipmaker said it was making good progress with its USD 1 billion cost-reduction target and meeting its growth targets for 2019.

Global pay-TV revenues to fall 11% by 2023 - study

(Telecompaper) Global pay-TV revenues are set to plummet by 11 percent to USD 183 billion by 2023 after reaching a peak of USD 205 billion in 2016, according to the latest study by Digital TV Research, covering 138 countries. The decline in revenues over the next 5 years will be due above all to more and more homes converting to bundles and will come in spite of an expected 9 percent rise in the number of pay-TV subscribers by 2023, said the report.

Zain Group Q3 revenues fall 6%, pulled down by Sudanese currency devaluation

(Telecompaper) Zain Group announced its third-quarter revenues fell 6 percent to KWD 259 million, hurt by negative currency effects. EBITDA reached KWD 104 million, a decrease of 23 percent, giving a 40 percent EBITDA margin. Net profit for the period amounted to KWD 40 million, down 6 percent, and EPS reached KWD 0.010.

Sprint improves EBITDA as revenues fall in Q3

(Telecompaper) Sprint has maintained its full-year outlook after reporting a steady improvement in EBITDA and cash generating for the fiscal second quarter to September. Customer growth also improved, although revenues were lower due to market pressure on ARPU.
