Come and develop the ground systems responsible for acquiring and delivering third party data services As observations from our satellites become increasingly broadened, we are looking for a system engineer to take responsibility for acquiring, processing and delivering data services for our international partners and users. This is an opportunity to contribute to EUMETSATs stateofthe art ground systems so that we can enhance our services by extracting and processing data from a variety of sources. Your role at EUMETSAT At EUMETSAT we operate and control a fleet of satellites and payloads that support our missions. We therefore have experts in controlling spacecraft and, in parallel, monitoring, delivering and interpreting the data that they produce for us. This information is used to forecast weather, sea surface temperatures and air quality. Our use of technology is vital to everyday life. Your expertise in developing softwareintensive, nearreal time ground systems will have been gained in an operational environment. You will be involved in the life cycle of development from analysing requirements and generating technical solutions, through to their Verification and Validation. You will work with a variety of partners and teams in a matrix environment, using your organisational skills to balance priorities and schedules. Some knowledge of the processing of data broadcast by meteorological satellites to XL Band stations would be advantageous. You need excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple internal and external interfaces. We are a fast paced, operational organisation, working closely with users and partners from industry and space agencies. You will need to be customer focused and have experience of working in a service driven environment. TASKS The tasks of the key person will typically include Contribute to the inhouse development and validation of test data and their maintenance. Support the consolidation of the development logic for test tools test data and compilation of the associated schedule. Support procurements of test tools test data, including the analysis of received deliverables and attending acceptance tests. Support acceptance of test tools test data provided by partners such as ESA, CNES, DLR. Support the simulation of test data sets for VV using available tools generation of test data sets using real data from satellite and instrument onground tests or inorbit operation. Support the implementation of an infrastructure to host test tools and test data. Support configuration management of tools test data sets Support the preparation of VV tests of processing chains, such as preparation of test specifications and procedures, specifically for aspects related to use of test tools and test data. Contribute to the execution of VV tests of processing chains, specifically for the analysis of test results, inter alia using developed test analysis tools, with documentation of the results in test reports. Participation in relevant internal and external meetings. Support for the preparation of documentation for system level reviews.
