For our customer in Darmstadt we are looking for a Data Processing Engineer to support current and forthcoming Earth observation missions. Tasks and Responsibilities The tasks of the Data Processing Engineer shall include the following activities Contribute to the procurement of data processing elements by advising on technical solution proposed by the contractor, and reviewing documentation to confirm its compliance with the requirements Contribute to the definition, design, implementation and maintenance of architectures for data processing ground segments and their components. Contribute to the management of the requirements baseline for data processing elements Contribute to the review of Product Generation Specifications for operational processors Contribute to the refinement of ICDs Contribute to testing, integration and acceptance of data processing elements Contribute to maintenance activities, including characterisation of system component behaviour against required performance, proposal and implementation of system alterations to achieve required performance Contribute to evolution activities, including conceptual design, requirements specification, system analysis and concept development to support increased performance, and cost reduction Review of System, Space Segment and Ground Segment documentation dealing with requirements, concepts, algorithms and technical analysis of relevance for data processing, including instrument data processing algorithms, product format descriptions and calibration concepts, etc. Support the operations of existing data processing ground segments and their maintenance and evolution. Perform standard Software engineering activities such as testing to verify the fulfilling of requirements, software integration, etc. Participation in formal reviews and technical meetings at System and Ground Segment level Skills and Experience In addition to a university degree in a relevant technical discipline such as engineering or physics the candidate shall have a background including the following skills and experience Relevant experience in preparation of requirements, design, interfaces and testing documentation for data processing systems for Earth Observation missions. Relevant experience with processing software for Earth Observation missions, either for operationsmaintenance or specification and development Knowledge of the requirements engineering process, including relation between requirements, ICDs, design and testing documentation Ability to learn and develop the needed skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of the project, including the ability to rapidly make use of information presented in written and oral communications Ability to maintain a system overview Experience in Software design and development objectoriented software design, software development, web applications programming, and troubleshooting of large complex systems. Experience in CC in a UNIX based environment, application programing of database systems ORACLE, MySQL, scripting languages, knowledge of web technologies. Finally, the applicant shall have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Heshe shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written in English are important. Transatel wins German regulatory decision on access to Telefonica data roaming

(Telecompaper) European MVNE Transatel has won an initial ruling from the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) on better access to data roaming services. The regulator ordered Telefonica Germany to submit contracts to Transatel for wholesale roaming services for the Internet of Things (IoT) after Telefonica rejected Transatel's earlier attempts to obtain MVNO and RLAH agreements for the German market.
