Telkom names Reyneke as acting CFO

(Telecompaper) Telkom South Africa has announced the resignation of Tsholofelo Molefe as group Chief Financial Officer to join rival MTN and has named Dirk Reyneke, CFO of Openserve for the past eighteen months, as acting Group CFO from 07 December. Reyneke is a qualified Chartered Accountant and joined Telkom on 01 March 2012 from Absa Retail and Business banking. Over the past eight years, Reyneke has gained valuable experience and knowledge across the Group, it said.

Telkom asks competition tribunal to investigate Vodacom, Rain cooperation

(Telecompaper) Telkom South Africa has asked the Competition Tribunal to declare the spectrum arrangements between Vodacom and Rain a merger that should have been notified in terms of the Competition Act. In a statement, Telkom said that the multiple agreements between Vodacom and Rain grant Vodacom use and control over the deployment of Rain's spectrum, including the planning, rollout, maintenance and service of its radio access network. This is equivalent to a merger of the two groups, the rival operator claims.

Telkom South Africa offers 1 TB monthly for ZAR 999 in SIM-only deal with no contract or FUP

(Telecompaper) Telkom South Africa has launched a SIM-only 1 terabyte monthly LTE deal for ZAR 999 with no fair use policy and on a month-to-month agreement, reports MyBroadband. Telkom said the Covid-19 pandemic has encouraged it to offer this SIM-only smart broadband wireless deal that will ensure that people do not run out of data. The new service runs on Telkom's 2,300 MHz LTE/LTE-A network and there is no speed limit or contract.
