Your responsibilities will include ensuring our tasks are planned, executed, documented and reported in accordance with the Copernicus Agreements, contributing to internal and external audits and management reporting. You will also represent EUMETSAT at the Copernicus Programme Committee and other governance bodies, including the EUMETSAT Management Board. This is an outstanding opportunity to become involved in one of our most exciting projects. With proven engineering knowledge of endto end Earth Observation Satellite Systems, you will bring your experience of being involved with management of complex European projects, ideally involving the European Commission. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Duties Tasks The successful applicant will form part of the management team of an international project, working under the direct leadership of the general subcontractor manager and the project manager. Concrete responsibilities Responsibility over one or several subcontractors. Managerial and programmatic control schedule, deliverables, compliance levels, invoice approval and status. Coordination of the contractual, technical and PA follow up supported as required by the contracts department, the project technical team and the PA team. Organisation and attendance of technical and managerial meetings, including progress meetings, formal reviews and audits, with the subcontractors under hisher responsibility. Contributions to progress reports and progress meetings Frequent short travel will be required, estimated in average as a minimum of 2 trips 13 days each per month. Qualifications MsC in engineering or sciences, preferably with experience on Space or similar projects. PMP or similar qualifications will be considerd a valuable asset. Take advantage of this great opportunity to lead a complex satellite launch and commissioning programme. EUMETSAT, Europes Meteorological Satellite Agency, is recruiting a Programme Manager for METOPC the third in a series of three polar orbiting spacecraft. The successful candidate shall be expected to interface with ESA, CNES, NOAA and Industry partners to ensure all aspects of the programme launch, postlaunch, commissioning and handover to routine operations are coordinated. This is a rewarding and high profile position, suitable for candidates with excellent communication skills who are confident representing EUMETSAT to other industry professionals and partners. The successful candidate shall have a good domain knowledge, enabling them to cope with the complex set up, they shall also have great leadership and decision making skills. All candidates require a university degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline along with skills and experience in the following areas Proven experience in the development of satellite systems space and ground segment, preferably Earth Observation systems, including successful experience in project andor programme management Proven ability to plan and manage complex development projects under schedule, quality and cost constraints. The European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency GSA has set up a selection procedure that aims to establish a reserve list for Programme Manager for Galileo Exploitation. The Programme Manager will report to the Executive Director, nevertheless such hierarchical reporting may change, in perspective of the developments of the GSA organisation. Tasks and responsibilities indicated below are also subject to possible adjustments. Among other tasks, heshe will be responsible for Managing the GSA Galileo Exploitation Team currently composed of approximately 20 staff members Managing the planning and execution of Galileo Exploitation programme activities in compliance with the Delegation Agreements from the Commission, and ensuring the associated GSA interface with Commission representatives Conducting Galileo Service Engineering activities mission analyses from user needs to mission requirements specifications, new service design, user segment standards development Specifying the needs for Galileo Service and System Evolutions and implementing the associated design and development activities through a Working Arrangement with ESA, and ensuring the associated GSA interface with ESA representatives Ensuring the delivery of Galileo services Initial Services, then Full Operational Capability Services, coordinating the different contributors to such service delivery Prepararing, negotiating and managing the Galileo Service Operations Activities, including Galileo Service Centre in Madrid, the Search Rescue SAR Galileo Centre in Toulouse and Galileo Reference Centre in Noordwijk, thus guaranteeing proper interface with the Galileo Security Monitoring Centre GSMC, in Paris Preparing, in coordination with the GSA Security Department and ESA, the Galileo security accreditation milestones Representing the Agency in public communication events Furthermore, the Programme Manager for Galileo exploitation will also contribute to other tasks of the Agency, as necessary. Finally, as mentioned above and importantly, such description of tasks may evolve together with the evolution of the Agencys missions and organisation. The location for the post of Programme Manager for Galileo exploitation is foreseen to be Prague Czech Republic. Regular to frequent missions are foreseen for this post.
