Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will have the following responsibilities Design and Implementation of Signal Processing algorithms and RF modem functionality Modulators and demodulators for groundtosatellite links and intersatellite links Lower layers of protocol stack for our various modemradios RF sampling, timestamping, filtering, selection and compression spectrum monitoring Design, prototyping, verification and testing using automated build and test systems Work from systems requirements to space qualified products being launched into space Help project managers and bid managers scope development work packages Help prepare SW tasks and breakdown of work for planning. Skills Experience The key person shall have proven knowledge and handson experience in several of the following mandatory skills areas Technical education, at least Bachelors degree or equivalent Work experience within software design and product development You define yourself as a Signal Processing or Modem SW Engineer Experience with HDL design for FPGAs is considered a plus Experience in programming in Python and CC for embedded Linux systems Knowledge of Linux OS Goaloriented development mindset Personal drive and sense of ownership Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. You will be a part of the Software team which belongs to our crossdisciplinary Signal Processing and Radio Communications team which also includes colleagues specializing in digital hardware, radio frequency hardware, and antennas. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with the tasks mentioned below. However, we value applications from experienced and newly graduated candidates alike. We seek the following qualifications Relevant technical education, at least a bachelors degree or similar. Work experience within software design and product development. You most likely define yourself as a Signal Processing or Modem SW engineer. Ideally you also have experience with HDL design for FPGAs, but it is not a must. You feel at home programming in Python and CC for embedded Linux systems. Our satellites and SDR run a Linux OS. Therefore, our primary development platform is Linux. It is a massive benefit if you are comfortable with that already. Work with an iterative and goaloriented development mindset. Fluent in English at a professional level. Then we may have a good news for you as Celestia Antwerp is actively looking for hiring a JOB DESCRIPTION The Modem System Engineer will join the department in charge of the development of satellite communication products which are part of the RF chain linking the ground station Antenna SBand up to KaBand to its Central Control Station. These include equipment covering a wide span of products such as highspeed data receivers used in scientific missions, telecommand and telemetry baseband modems, RF frequency converters and many others. Tasks and Responsibilities He she will take the leadership role in the design and the development of the modem functions and will document the algorithm architectural design choices made. He she will execute proactively all necessary simulations and consolidate all results obtained. He she will define the test plans and the procedures to assess the modem performances. He she might support business development activities in drafting highlevel modem architecture meeting customer highlevel objectives issued through RFP. He she might participate to conferences and sometimes present technical achievements. Qualifications and Experience Master PhD in Telecommunications engineering or equivalent through experience. Profound knowledge in Signal Processing Theory Sampling, coding decoding, modulation demodulation, signal acquisition, filtering, AGC, ADCDAC, control loops, etc.. Highly skilled in Matlab and CC programming. Proven experience with parallelism design development taking benefits of CPUs GPUs SSE AVX, openCL, Cuda are strong assets.
