Summary A Senior Flight Operations Engineer with experience of operations for Eurostar 3000based platforms Objective To support operations of a fleet of geostationary spacecraft, based in the United Arab Emirates Responsibilities Duties Support operations of, and lead technical activities for geostationary spacecraft Work onsite at customer operations facility in UAE Development review of new operational procedures General engineering support to operations preparation Participation in training and rehearsals for major activities Checking and development of Flight Operations System configuration Qualifications Experience Degree or similar in technical subject applicable to Spacecraft Operations Engineering e.g. Physics, Engineering, Mathematics. You will work in the Operations Department of EUMETSAT as a member of the Flight Dynamics Team. The Role Your tasks in the area of Flight Dynamics Engineering will typically include Support to the routine operations of the flight dynamics systems of the operational EUMETSAT missions, including spacecraft orbit and attitude determination, events and ground station visibility predictions Support to the monitoring, analysis and enhancements of the flight dynamics input to the processing of meteorological images and products within the EUMETSAT ground segments Support to the planning, execution and evaluation of spacecraft manoeuvres Maintenance of the fuel budgets and fuelendoflife estimates for each of the operational spacecraft Distribution of the weekly orbital information and generation of input to the Quarterly Operations Report Support to the preparation activities in the area of flight dynamics and mission analysis required during the development of new EUMETSAT programmes and prior to the launch of new satellites Support to LEOP and commissioning operations for future launches of Geostationary satellites. Mandatory skills In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Consultant shall have at least 5 years experience in the field of Flight Dynamics and a good understanding of spacecraft andor ground segment operations. The elements listed below are mandatory Orbital dynamics of Geostationary satellites Analytical principles for orbit and attitude determination and control Routine operations of operational Flight Dynamics Systems Operational validation of Flight Dynamics Systems and associated operational procedures Architecture of operational Flight Dynamics Systems for Geostationary satellites e.g. Quartz, PEPSOC.
