As a result the initial software design and architecture falls short of todays multimission requirements, making maintenance of the current Flight Dynamics systems difficult. The selected consultant will support and facilitate the preparation and definition of the implementation of ORATOS NG. A number of requirements, design decisions, objectives and guidelines need to be gathered, recorded, maintained and promulgated. These positions are planned with a starting date of August 2013. Interviews are planned in Darmstadt for the second half of June, with the selection decisions tentatively to be announced on 5 July. Note that English is the working language Applicants should hold appropriate documentation and permits for working and living in Germany. Desirable Specific experience with the ORATOS software, especially in its design, development and maintenance Familiarity with the specific flight dynamics software packages currently running under ORATOS Some experience in flight dynamics Experience with the early phases of software project requirement definition, design tradeoffs of a similar scope Experience with software migration readaptation of existing software Experience with software documentation and related standards Some exposure to project management Experience in a similar consultancy role, as onsite resident at a scientific operational organization Some background with international organisations. In order to get up to speed quickly, the candidate will be expected to gain a rapid familiarisation with the spacecraft, as well as the ground systems at ESOC.
