The Galileo system is currently being brought into operation, with the constellation of orbiting satellites being established in the coming months. The Challenge We are looking for a senior Ground Systems Operations Engineer to support, as a contracted employee of Terma, the Galileo Project of the European Space Agency in monitoring and controlling the overall preparation of the ground segment and execution of the Galileo operations activities. The role will support the activities of the Galileo Constellation Operations Unit HSOOGC in the coordinating of the definition, deployment, validation, and operation of the Galileo Ground Control infrastructure, as required to meet the overall Galileo service needs. The Ground Control Segment infrastructure is deployed and operated mainly in the Galileo Control Centre GCC in Oberpfaffenhofen Germany and Fucino Italy as backup. Your Qualifications Applicants shall have an university degree, preferably in Electric or Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering or other suitable qualification together with significant experience of senior engineering activities in ground control of similarly complex computer infrastructure deployed for space operation related activities. The tasks primarily involve the management and use of the MSG Central Facility MSG CF mission control system, and its operational interfaces.
