SoftBank to launch 5G service in Japan on 27 March

(Telecompaper) SoftBank has announced it will launch 5G services on 27 March. This would make it Jpana's first operator to launch 5G services on the local market, The Japan Times reports. SoftBank plans to charge an additional monthly fee of JPY 1,000 (approximately USD 9) for access to its 5G service. However, as a service launch promotion, customers will have free access to SoftBank's 5G service for the first 2 years, under a sales campaign that runs until August.
NBCUniversal names new streaming service Peacock, to launch in April 2020

(Telecompaper) Comcast's media arm NBCUniversal has announced it will launch its own subscription streaming service in April 2020, called Peacock. The name refers to the peacock logo used by broadcaster NBC. The service will build on the media group's own archive, with programmes such as The Office and Parks and Recreation, and live events such as the rights to the Olympics in the US, late night entertainment shows and wide news output.

(Telecompaper) MagentaGaming enables users to play video games independently of their PC or console. The computing power originates from the cloud and the games are streamed on devices. It works on Windows PCs (Windows 7, 8 and 10), Mac (MacOS X) and Android devices. Telkom plans to use it for iOS and Xbox, too. Controllers can be connected via Bluetooth, WLAN or USB.

Apple to launch subscription TV service in November, considers price of USD 10 - report
