We are looking to further enhance our team by Launcher Interface engineer You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 2 years may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. Your Tasks Include The Key person shall provide expertise on LauncherSatellite interface issues all along the Launcher selection and Launch preparation phases, assessing overall interface compatibility and readiness status of launch vehicles and carrying out specific studies or analysis where requested. The Key person shall also take part in the coordination of the operational support to the Launch, to this aim heshe could be sent frequently on mission and heshe will be located at Launch Site for the duration of the Launch Campaign. Description of tasks Launch services procurement phase Perform specific analyses, tradeoffs and studies to support the identification of potential launch services for Client missions and associated technical requirements, Support the preparation and the execution of launch feasibility and compatibility studies, liaising with the launch services provider and industry as necessary for the provision of inputs and verification of the results, Support the definition and the consolidation of satellite to launcher interface requirements Support the definition of the launch services procurement documentation and the review and assessment of the offers from the selected providers Coordinate with the system team manager launch service related tasks and activities Launch services mission preparation phase Perform or manage specific analyses as needed in relation with the establishment or verification of satellite to launcher interface requirements, Prepare or support the preparation of specific documentation to be delivered in the frame of the launch preparation activities Review and assess space segment documentation in relation with launcher interface e.g. mission analysis, environment specifications, environmental test plans and specifications, launch campaign operations plans and procedures, etc. to verify compliance and compatibility with the selected launch services Review and assess technical notes or dossiers issued by the launch services provider, in relation to satellite development, mission analysis, launch compatibility, etc., Interface internal and external parties involved in the program with regard to satelliteto launcher interfaces and attend meeting and reviews as necessary, both on space segment and launch services sides, Regularly update and maintain under configuration the satellite to launcher interface requirements taking into account the outcomes of the iterations with the launch service providers, the mission analysis studies and the outcomes of the main reviews PMAR, FMAR, etc., Regularly update and maintain the deployment and applicability to the space segment of the satellite to launcher interface requirements Support the definition, the review and the update of the Satellite to Launcher Interface Control Document issued by the launch services provider Support the coordination with the Client LEOP manager in relation to the launch technical requirements and inputs required by the LEOP provider Coordinate with Client flight dynamics team for the scope of defining the requirements for satellite injection Coordinate with the system team manager launch service related activities, and provide status of launch preparation Provide support to Client and satellite reviews Regularly update and maintain the program action items list in relation with the interface with the launch provider Support the coordination and preparation of meetings with launch providers Launch Campaign preparation phase In coordination with the satellite development team and the launch services provider support the logistics in preparation of the launch campaign set up of the requirements for customer offices, coordination of the shipments of necessary hardware, travel plans, etc. Support the definition and coordination of the launch campaign master plans and procedure schedule, operation plans, master procedures, countdown procedure allocation of personnel, etc. Coordinate with the Client LEOP manager in relation to the technical requirements for the LEOP phase Coordinate with the system team manager launch service related activities, and provide status of launch campaign preparation Provide support to Client and satellite reviews Launch Campaign phase Deputize or act when needed as Launch Interface Manager, being the formal point of contact with the launch services provider Monitor the launch campaign activities and interface the launch services provider to ensure timely delivery of services to Client for the needs of the Launch Campaign execution. Coordinate with the Client LEOP manager Coordinate with the system team manager launch service related activities, and provide status of launch campaign activities Provide support to Client and satellite reviews General Client or launch services group activities Monitor and maintain a weekly record of Launch events. Prepare and maintain an updated dossier of existing Launch Services, identifying potential compatibility with Client satellites. Provide weekly reporting on activities performed in support to the different programs, Perform andor support analysis or specific studies as requestednecessary for the general Client need, Provide support to other Client groups activities and system reviews as necessary The specific tasks assigned to the Key person in the relevant period will be agreed through dedicated workpackages with clear identification of activities and outputs expected. In the performance of these tasks, the Key person shall apply the relevant organisational and programmatic quality management procedures as well as the relevant engineering standards and working practices. Your Profile The Key person shall have a university degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline, with a proven knowledge and minimum of 3 years experience in spacelauncher systems and related aspects. In particular, the following experiencejob skills are sought Very good knowledge of launch related topics such as Trajectories and Launch Mission Analysis, Flight Dynamics, EMC, Vibrations, Propulsion, satellite Launch Campaign activities and tests Experience in implementing Quality and management processes The Key person shall demonstrate organisational and management skills to fulfil coordination tasks assigned during the preparation and execution of Launch Campaigns. Experience in the implementation of a launch service and preparationexecution of launch campaigns would be an asset. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to apply these to interactions within a team and between teams are required. The official languages are English and French. We are looking for a Ground Segment System Interface Engineer to work as part of the Infrastructure Engineering and Maintenance team at one of our clients in Germany. Job Description The individual will provide interface engineering support during the ground system design phase, contribute to the definition of IVV activities and provide support to the Ground System Interfaces Engineer. The role will also include working with the system and interface engineers for future ground segment to ensure that new interfaces are compatible with Operations requirements. The role will involve analysis to verify system and interface coherence, system architecture and interface evolutions, and to address system level anomalies. He or she will define the interface testing approach and support the coordination of installation, integration and verification of new systems into an operational infrastructure, such as for new GEO and LEO systems.
