As a softwarefirmware engineer you have the knowledge of software and firmware development according to the latest development principles, the design, simulation, implementation and verification of FPGA circuits with HDL. You are interested in security and cryptography and you like to bring this together in new applications. You will join a multidisciplinary team that delivers software and firmware in sprints and which is responsible for the complete development cycle. Skills and competencies to be successful You have a broad interest in technology and development of high tech systems and you like to work and develop outside you knowledge area. You have Completed Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or Embedded System or Technical Software Engineering Knowledge or experience as electronics design engineer embedded system engineer Knowledge or experience as FPGA developer using HDL VHDL, Verilog and HLS Knowledge or experience with assembly or embedded C for microcontrollers Knowledge or experience using various common digital interfaces Knowledge or experience of functional and performance testing, debugging of FPGA and microcontrollers You have demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills while working in a team. Eligibility for an EU Personal Security Clearance at the level of CONFIDENTIAL and above is part of the selection procedure. Firmware Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Kineis team, you will be involved in developing the signal processing within a new Payload for an IoT application where understanding of involved HW and Firmwaretechnologies as well as the interfaces to the software processing is required. You will have the following responsibilities Development of the interfaces between HW and FW and signal processingalgorithms for IoT and LBand applications, implementation test, support to an inthefield testbed RF Signal processing development support in new IoT applications VHDLimplementation of lowlevel driver and interface control configuration, functional and performance testing Technical planning of the firmware development aligned with the payload development Estimation and conduction of the FW development activities Analysis and correction of anomalies raised Contribute to product firmware documentation. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Degree in Electronics preferably RF and digital electronics, or equivalent Several years of experience in the industry Deep FPGA tools knowledge including timing closure for FPGAs Familiar with Mentor Modelsim and with Xilinx FPGAand SoC devices like Zynq Ultrascale including 3rd party IP, and Vivado Implementation of High Speed Serial interfaces such as PCIe, Aurora, JESD204B Implementation of onchip bus AMBA AXI Application knowledge in communications, high speed data transfer and signal processing Familiar with optimization of RF signal processing algorithms for limited FPGA resources Familiarity with programming in MATLAB HDL Coder Ability to coordinate and instruct a small team of firmware and software developers Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge the German language or of another European language is an advantage. Eclypsium has released research that identifies and confirms unsigned firmware in WiFi adapters, USB hubs, trackpads and cameras used in Windows and Linux computer and server products from Lenovo, Dell, HP and other major manufacturers. Eclypsium also demonstrated a successful attack on a server via a network interface card with unsigned firmware used by each of the big three server manufacturers.

Your responsibilities You will join the firmware design team and will be involved in the full firmware development cycle of our products. You will have the chance to work with challenging products designed for extreme environments. Our designs are related to image processing, sensor readout, system integration, digital and analog electronics in combination with FPGAs. You will be involved in jobs ranging from the realization of IP cores in CPLD, FPGA and SOC designs to software, electronics and image sensors. We rely on Xilinx FPGAs for defense projects and Microsemi FPGAs for space projects. You will have the opportunity to learn and design these products in assistance with an experienced project team. You will work with FPGA and SDK tools to realize a fully working system, where you assist in the design, simulation, debugging and realization of the firmware.
