Description of the Job As an FPGA Communication Engineer of ODYSSEUS Space, you will be responsible for definition, implementation, simulation, and testing of highdatarate FPGAbased encoder and decoder for CYCLOPS laser communication terminals. As a part of a larger team, you will contribute to the architecture of the endtoend directtoEarth laser communication system, and in later stages, validation of system performance on the ground and in orbit. The job involves design, customization and implementation of encoderdecoder IP cores in VHDL and Verilog, performing simulations, breadboarding in the lab active collaboration with systems engineer and electronics engineer for assessment of impact on the system design performing trade off analyses, setting performance expectations, and requirements for subcomponents.
