ASHRAE 2016 Winter Conference (January 23–27) and AHR Expo (January 25–27) will be held, respectively, at Orlando Hilton and neighboring Orange County Convention Center in FL. ASHRAE assists future engineers through scholarships.

Via ASHRAE's scholarship program, 29 students are receiving $152,000 worth of financial assistance for the 2015-16 school year. In addition, ASHRAE announced creation of several new scholarships, which will be available for 2016-2017. They include: Gordon V.R. Holness Scholarship; ASHRAE Central New York Chapter King-Traugott Scholarship; James R. Bullock Jr. Scholarship; and Freshman Engineering Scholarship.

ASHRAE Proposes Standard for building energy rating systems.

ASHRAE Standard 214P, Standard for Determining and Expressing Building Energy Performance in a Rating Program, is intended to standardize building energy rating programs. To achieve this goal, this standard sets forth required minimum content of any labels associated with rating programs and establishes minimum requirements for rating program documentation and other essential components in rating programs. Proposed standard is open for public comment until September 28, 2015.
