Fiber prices have stopped falling in the last few days in China, whereas yarn prices have less significantly fallen than in the previous month. Demand for foreign yarns plummeted in the meantime. Domestic and Import yarn price indicators are released, and local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang), including many counts for spun cotton, polyester, viscose, and blends. After affecting the cotton market, the Uyghurs' fate could now disturb the viscose market after Finnish group Stora Enso suddenly announced it will end its wood pulp activities, including sales to Xinjiang's viscose producers. Our weekly report covers the viscose fiber and spun yarn prices in China, India, and Pakistan. Fiber and yarn prices are compared in the three countries. Cotton linter, cotton pulp, and wood pulp prices on domestic and import markets are tracked. Viscose filament prices are available for China. Modal and Lyocell prices in India are also released. Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)

PTA and MEG prices have stabilized in Asia after sharply falling in March from recent peaks. Demand remains strong after polyester use has been supported by relatively lower cost compared with cotton. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
