Cotton fiber prices have significantly fallen in the last seven days in China, ahead of the October holidays. Cotton yarn prices have resisted, with gross margins further recovering at spinning mills, as a result. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose, and blends. Import prices are also available for cotton yarns. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. The rise of PTA and MEG capacities could, however, result in lower operating rates in the fourth quarter of the year.
