Yarn prices are no more moving in China, in line with a seasonal decline of demand. Imports of cotton yarns have further soared in the first four months of the year, as reflected by our statistical data. The jump of China's cotton yarn imports offers a strong support to the international market. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. Historical data are available for download.

Polyester chain prices are resisting in the Far East whereas sliding in India. Crude oil prices could now decline to even lower levels, with however no clear sign this could be transmitted to PTA and MEG prices. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain, including Paraxylene (PX), PTA, MEG, polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Cotton prices stayed relatively stable in the last week, and could find some strong support in the next season, due to a rise in consumption and a significant fall in production, the ICAC has estimated in its monthly report.
