Bangladesh has continued taking advantage of China's setback whereas the surge in shipments from Myanmar or Cambodia has followed the relocation of Chinese apparel industry to low-cost countries in Asia. US cotton apparel imports have stopped falling in volume terms in second and third quarter this year, although unit prices have rebounded. Man-made fiber imports remain firm, thanks to the stability of unit values whereas the surge of wool apparel prices has depressed demand, as reflected by our detailed analysis of US apparel imports per category.
