EU's clothing imports are now dropping in volume terms due to the fall of the European currencies against the US dollar. Shipments have even sharply declined in a series of product categories whereas imports were resisting in other HS 4-digit categories, as reflected by our tables. Unit prices have begun rebounding in euro terms in the third quarter, with January-September data however still benefiting from the good results of the first two quarters of the year. Statistical tables are published with volume, value and unit value changes in euro and US$ terms, covering 61 and 62 HS chapters (knit and woven clothing). The full table is also available for download with 5-year historical data from third quarter and Jan-Sep 2013.

Chinese shipments have sharply dropped in September from a year earlier, whereas imports from Bangladesh were dramatically slowing down. Unit values have bottomed out in euro terms, Our report covers monthly EU clothing import data, with historical trends being analyzed, and a specific focus on China vs Rest of World (RoW) and Bangladesh, and on knit vs woven clothing. Data are supplied in euro and in US dollars with historical data available for download, back to January 2000.
