Man-made fiber imports remain firm, thanks to the stability of unit values whereas the surge of wool apparel prices has depressed demand, as reflected by our detailed analysis of US apparel imports per category. US apparel imports have been stronger in the third quarter of 2018, with Chinese shipments slightly recovering whereas Vietnam and Bangladesh have also benefited from the rebound of US demand. Duty-free access has been a key advantage for a series of countries in Central America, but also for Jordan and Egypt. Our quarterly and annual report details shipments to U.S. market per origin, with volume and value changes, market shares, and unit value variations in the last five years. US retail imports slow but remain strong ahead of tariff increase
