General Mills Inc said on Tuesday that it had reduced sodium by at least 20 percent in seven product categories, fewer than it had targeted, as part of the food industry's effort to cut back on an ingredient said to increase the risk of serious illnesses. The maker of brands like Cheerios cereal and Yoplait yogurt said in 2010 that it was targeting a 20 percent reduction in 10 product categories by 2015.

Your Tasks Include The key person will work within the Remote Sensing and Products RSP Division of the Technical and Scientific Support TSS Department and will provide support as a member of the Atmospheric Composition AC Team. Hisher responsibilities will primarily cover the support for the generation of Level 2 data processing, product format, and auxiliary data specifications for the UVNS mission. In addition the post will support the review of calibration algorithms and contribute to development activities related to Level 1 data processing software. Development of prototype software and preparation of associated documentation will be another focus area. The tasks of the Key person will include Provision of support for the generation of Level 2 data processing, product format, and auxiliary data specifications for the UVNS mission Provision of support to the development of algorithms for the calibration of UVNS Level 0 data Development of prototype software for the purposes of testing and validation of the algorithms developed, including the generation of associated technical reports etc Analyze the constraints imposed by the implementation of the products within an operational processing environment on the algorithm and implement necessary changes Interfacing with experts Collaboration with expert groups and the wider scientific community In addition the key person will provide support to Assessment of results from scientific studies Refinement of mission requirements in response to expert advice and results of scientific studies Scientific assessments related to requirements refinements Interaction with expert teams and the conduct of expert team meetings Participation in reviews. Your Profile The UVNS product development consultant shall have the experience and capability to fulfill the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision and have good interpersonal skills. Heshe shall be familiar with Level 2 retrieval algorithms, data processing, and satellite instrument characteristics in the UV to SWIR part of the spectrum. Heshe shall have the ability to write concise and comprehensive scientific and technical reports. In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the consultant shall have a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of remote sensing product retrievals, data processing, and analysis. Further the consultant shall have a solid background in software engineering Specifically the key person shall have Experience in atmospheric remote sensing in the optical spectrum Ultraviolet to Shortwave Infrared Familiarity with Earth observation systems in operational meteorology, atmospheric composition and climate monitoring both remote sensing and in situ systems Handling and processing of remote sensing data Experience with instrument calibration and characterization Familiarity with radiative transfer Good skills in a higher programming language e.g. Fortran, C. The following areas of expertise would be an advantage Quality control of satellite data and products Operational product processing environments Software build environments and tools e.g. make, imake, eclipse, insure Source code control system e.g. git or SVN. Your Tasks Include The key person will be fully integrated in the Atmospheric Composition Team and will interface with inhouse experts of various disciplines system, instruments, operations, science, and in particular members of the MTG Science and Instrument Teams. The tasks of the key person will include Provision of support to the development of algorithms for calibration of UVN level 0 data Provision of support to the development of an Instrument Data Simulator Taking into account the constraints imposed by the final goal of implementation of the products within an operational processing system Provision of support to the development of prototype software code for the purposes of testing and validation the algorithms developed Provision of support to the development of an instrument performance model based on specifications to be provided by industry Provision of support to the development of software for crosscalibration and validation activities Generation of test data required for the verification of the algorithm and products Provision of support to the generation of associated documentation including test data descriptions, Product Specification PS, technical reports etc Interfacing with Client experts as needed Collaboration with expert groups and the wider scientific community as appropriate Assessment of results from scientific studies Provision of support to operational level 2 processor development activities, for future level 2 product development for the UVN instrument.
